About Us

Scout & Sage offers activities in English for kids between 5 and 12 years old. We welcome any children who are hoping to improve their English speaking, reading, and writing skills through authentic learning experiences. Some activities require some basic fluency, others are better suited for those who are just developing their English reading and writing skills.

All activities are led by Todd and Valérie Besanceney. After having met in Gryon in 2003, we enjoyed a few years of traveling and teaching abroad and closer to Geneva. We are very happy to call Gryon home, with our two daughters (Josephine Scout & Madeleine Sage), and love the mountain life. We are both trained and licensed educators, with an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction. We each have 15 years of experience teaching in international schools and are passionate about encouraging children to explore their own potential.
